Nordic Unmanned Hosts NATO FORACS Range User Meeting

The NATO Force Calibration System (FORACS) Range User Meeting brought together representatives from the United States, Canada, Greece, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Norway to engage directly with Nordic Unmanned's operational teams and explore how civilian-sector UAS capabilities can complement NATO's warship testing and evaluation requirements.
During the visit, Nordic Unmanned presented its operational concept for unmanned intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) and maritime domain awareness. Presentations covered BVLOS operations, remote and cross-border mission execution, and real-time data delivery — capabilities the company has developed and refined across extensive operational deployments spanning more than 23,000 BVLOS flight hours and operations in over 20 countries. Attendees also had the opportunity to view a broad display of Nordic Unmanned's unmanned fleet and sensor payloads, providing a tangible demonstration of the company's operational maturity and the breadth of systems available for mission-specific tasking.
The meeting drew a substantive response from NATO FORACS Norway. Commander (Senior Grade) Karl Isane, Range Manager at NATO FORACS Norway, noted: "NATO FORACS Norway appreciates the opportunity to learn more about the capabilities the civilian market can provide in support of our warship testing. We gained valuable insights during the briefing and highly appreciate the competence and professionalism demonstrated by Nordic Unmanned."
The engagement reflects growing interest from defence and allied organisations in understanding how commercially operated, platform-agnostic UAS services can be integrated into or aligned with military testing and operational frameworks. Nordic Unmanned's established track record in maritime surveillance, cross-border operations, and multi-national deployments — including its long-standing partnership with EMSA and collaborations with defence-sector partners — positioned it as a relevant and credible host for this level of multi-national dialogue.
Nordic Unmanned extended its sincere appreciation to NATO FORACS and all participating nations for the visit, the quality of dialogue, and the exchange of operational perspectives that took place throughout the meeting.
